"McLaren Mountain"
The victorious Tekno Autosports McLaren 650S driven by Shane van Gisbergen, Álvaro Parente and Jonathon Webb leading the early pre-dawn laps of the 2016 Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama.
Shane van Gisbergen opened the race strongly, and soon after sunrise set a lap time that was even quicker than his pole position time. He claimed victory, holding off the previous year's winning Nissan R35-GTR, driven by Rick Kelly, Katsumasa Chiyo and Florian Strauss.

An early morning trip to Bathurst to watch the start of the 12 Hour race is a unique experience in Australian motorsport.
The cars leave pit lane one at a time, and their individual engine notes echo through the Australian bush. Their tail lights disappear as they climb Mountain Straight in the inky black of pre-dawn Mount Panorama.
