Pirtek Legends Night - 2024 Gold Coast 500

Pirtek Legends Night - 2024 Gold Coast 500

It was an honour to be invited by Dr. Ryan Story and Brett "Crusher" Murray to participate in the inaugural Pirtek Legends dinner and fundraising event.

It was certainly a challenge having to complete a tribute painting to Dick Johnson over the course of the evening to be auctioned off, but I was happy to be able make a small contribution to the amount of money raised on the night: over $200,000 for Motorsport Ministries.

Thanks to Ryan for arranging for me to be there.

NEW Original Painting: Camaro Crush - 1982 Bathurst 1000

CAMARO CRUSH

Kevin Bartlett in the Chevrolet Camaro Z28, 1982 Bathurst 1000.

Bartlett's rollover at Reid Park has gone down in Australian motorsport folklore.

When the Camaro's left rear tyre blew on lap 27 it slammed into the wall and rolled onto its roof, sliding across the track. Legend has it that Bartlett got out of the upside-down car and smoked a cigarette given to him by a spectator on The Mountain.

Original Painting gouache on artboard  (size approximately 900mm x 600mm)

Original painting FOR SALE, P.O.A.
